The
Academy is a division of YEAH, Youth Educated At Home
- The
YEAH Academy is designed to serve as a TUTORIAL
SUPPLEMENT to individual home study programs.
- The
YEAH Academy is committed to coming alongside of
home educating parents and students in Middle,
Junior and Senior High School.
- The
YEAH Academy coursework has been selected with the
objective of assisting home educating parents in
courses that may be a challenge to them or be out
of their field of expertise or interest.
- The
YEAH Academy is NOT a "school" nor
should it be considered for the majority of the
coursework for a home school.
The
Academy MAIN OPEN HOUSE for 2009-10 is scheduled for
Tuesday, July 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Bethany
Baptist Church, 2025 Skillman Ave West, Roseville, MN
55113. Orientation & Informational meetings
will be held from 5:30-6:00 and from 8:30-9:00 PM.
These meetings are recommended not only for new
families, but will provide updated information for
returning families as well. The Academy tutors will be
available from 6:00-9:00 to talk to parents and
students. Texts and syllabi will be available
for viewing.
The
Academy PSEO OPEN HOUSE for 2009-10 is
scheduled for Tuesday, June 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM
at Bethany Baptist Church (see above).

Orientation & Informational meeting will be from
6:30-7:00 PM in the sanctuary.
- NCU administrators
will be available to talk to students and parents
about NCU and the application process. NCU
PSEO applications will be available.
- YEAH/NCU
adjunct professors will be available to talk to
parents and students about courses being offered.
Texts and syllabi will be
available for viewing.
- YEAH
staff will be available to direct you to the
correct rooms, provide and collect YEAH membership
forms, collect MN PSEO and college acceptance
letters, and answer basic provide and questions on
registration and membership.
- Linda
López, YEAH Board member and independent
consultant, will be available during the evening
for brief, complimentary consultation. She can
help parents and students with course selection
and a quick review of the student's overall
schedule to make sure
- it
allows the student to meet the family home
school's graduation requirements
- it
meets the student's educational goals
- it
is a balanced schedule
- it
does not overload the student
